Urban Design Preliminary Draft for the Station Area – Renningen / Germany

The City of Renningen intends to upgrade the “station area” in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, particularly the area south of the station and the northern Bahnhofstraße. The urban design preliminary draft envisions a linear and central arrival and gathering place. Characterized by a wide pedestrian path with rows of trees for strolling, seating areas, and outdoor dining. Three L-shaped new buildings on the former parking lot form a spatial edge to the linear boulevard. The discount store in the western part of the planning area will be replaced by a new building and relocated eastward to create a clear spatial terminus for the axis.
