Urban Design Planning Seoul – Seoul / Korea

The city of Seoul has developed at a rapid pace over the last 50 years. However, as a global city with over 10 million inhabitants, the city must take a new step forward. This is to be achieved by improving the quality of life and focusing on qualitative rather than quantitative development. The goal of the project was to analyze and evaluate the previous planning objectives and strategies of the city of Seoul and to develop future guiding principles for the city.

Three important themes were: The creation of a new center for the city of Seoul. The improvement of residential quality and the development of alternative housing typologies. The holistic consideration of the topography along the Han River up to the surrounding mountains of Seoul. This will play an important role in the urban landscape of Seoul in the future.
