Development concept for Münchingen town centre – Korntal-Münchingen / Germany

In retrospect, Münchingen’s development over recent decades has been strongly shaped by the growth of residential and commercial areas on the outskirts of the district. By contrast, the town centre has benefited only marginally from this growth and shows potential for functional and design improvements.

Based on a thorough analysis of the district’s characteristics, the development concept for Münchingen town centre presents planning scenarios for how the inner-city area can gain in attractiveness and design coherence. On the one hand, Münchingen’s village character and location-specific elements are to be preserved; on the other, urban planning and architectural impetus is to be provided.
