Her field of activity spans various scales of urban planning, from urban development concepts and land-use planning to the design of public spaces, both domestically and internationally, particularly in China, Korea, and the Arab region.
A focus of her work and teaching is the engagement with sustainable urban planning. Since 2013, Dita Leyh has been a certified auditor for sustainable urban districts by the DGNB – German Sustainable Building Council and has participated in research projects, such as the “Climate Envelopes for Commercial Areas” project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
She is a member of the DASL – German Academy for Urban and Regional Planning and has received several awards and distinctions, such as the LEG Young Talent Award, the Shenzhen Planning Award, or the 2003 Urban Forum Award from Hanyang University Seoul, Korea, as well as awards for ISA projects like the Green Good Design, the Iconic, and the German Design Award.
