As a key city within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei metropolitan region and a representative of the entire Northeast area, Tangshan is situated at the intersection of the Beijing-Tangshan-Qinhuangdao development axis and the coastal development zone. Following the 1976 earthquake, a semi-permanent residential area and a cluster of low-rise industrial buildings were gradually established. The planning area is characterized by poor housing quality and infrastructure, an aging population, inefficient land use, and the gradual withdrawal of industry. The design therefore proposes the following three strategies:

1. Local culture as a development engine with three culture-based paths

2. Growth in urban development (new residential zone with high-density development, innovative and scientific city)

3. Three service nodes along the three cultural routes
